Al-Arish Castle is a historical castle established by Sultan Suleiman Khan the First known as Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent in 968 AH corresponding to 1560 AD and brought a garrison from the Bosniaks "Bosnia and Herzegovina today" and to this garrison the lineage of most of the families of the city of Al-Areesh. For several centuries, Al-Arish Castle remained a major center for the Sinai administration, which was one governorate before it became two provinces after Al-Arish's return to Egyptian soil after 1979.
